Club Championship

(Updated 04.03.2010)

Round 12 of the championship saw 18 men and 9 ladies line up to represent the club at the Springfield Striders XC at Writtle Park Farm, with Alistair Brown, James Hunton, Tim Rowntree and Craig Hooke making their seasonal debuts in the championship.

Mark Eden continued his rich vein of form, finishing as the first GFDR home. Jane Smith went one better in the ladies section by winning the race outright.

Following the allocation of points, the top three places in the Men’s championship remain unaltered with Mark Eden, Steve Read and David Spencer vying for the honours. Steve Downing and Howard Jardine lead the chasing group.

It’s as you were in the Ladies championship with Jane Smith, Pru Hayhow and Jo Bissett-Smith filling the top places, with Jules Reeves, Tina Hull and Sarah Mc Lagan close behind.

To date 44 of the 56 male and 27 of the 41 female members have competed in the championship, an excellent ratio.

Next week Round 13 sees the conclusion of the road races as the championship goes to Great Bromley for the Essex championship 20 miler.

Good luck to all……………………….
