About Us
Grange Farm & Dunmow Runners was formed by the amalgamation of two local clubs, Dunmow Runners formerly the Dunmow Pheidippedes established in 1982, and Grange Farm Trotters founded in 1996. We have about 100 members with a wide range of abilities, from recreational runners to those who love to compete

Monthly Timed lap
February Timed Lap
There
are some very hardy (or maybe foolish ones with nothing better to do) members
of the club – some 11 brave souls came out to play on the streets of Dunmow
and run the February timed lap on a VERY cold night. For Tom it was his first timed lap and hopefully
not his last as his time was a very creditable 15.32.
As
we time keepers were going to have to stand out in the cold I did ask that if everybody
could run a PB it would be appreciated.
We were not disappointed as just over half of you managed this. Can you imagine what it would be like if this
happened or a night with our usual numbers!!
Not only that but everyone finished within just over a minute so not too
much standing around at the end and shows that the handicapping is about right.
Roll
of honour this month in ascending order of PB reduction, Simon S, Rachel, Ian B
(marathon training clearly going well as 2nd PB in as many months), Matt
and Jane P (a whopping 50 second reduction!!)
Other mentions; Brendan who had a
horrible run as suffering from over training (certainly not something I am
guilty of), Neil who arrived late so sprinted round the warm up lap to catch up
and then had no recovery before starting the timed lap so a pretty respectable
time all things considered and finally Nick who despite having a bad back came
out for a jog and kept us timekeepers company.
As
ever my thanks to Sarah for helping with the timekeeping and if you think we
have made a mistake with the results please let me know.
I
will not be around next month so hopefully somebody will volunteer to help
Sarah with the timekeeping and publish the results.
