Charity Support 2012 / 2013

It has been decided that the Club Charity of the Year for 2012/2013 will be ACT (Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust) and a big thanks to everyone on the Comittee who voted to support it.

As I nominated ACT as Club Charity of the Year without giving much info, here is a little bit about it!!!

ACT  (Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust)

As the independent registered charity for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Addenbrooke's and the Rosie Hospitals, ACT is dedicated to making a difference to improve the experience of patients, their families and the staff who care for them.

Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, a chronic condition or long-term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the very highest quality of care. After all, it's likely that most of us – or our nearest and dearest – will be patients one day, which is when we'd give anything for the best medical attention available.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond what NHS funding alone can deliver and make projects happen sooner or to a greater degree than might have otherwise been possible. Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.

Last Year's Charity - Essex Air Ambulance

A thank you letter was received in December 2012 for the £1,415 additional donation that we made towards the end of 2012. A copy of the letter can be found below.
