I learned to day of the incredibly sad news that James Kew, a member of Saffron Striders, died during on a regular club run last night when he hit a downed power cable across a field near Debden. Two clubmates running with James suffered burns.

Our thoughts are with James' family and friends at this time and our sympathy goes to all membesr of Saffron Striders affected by this tragic accident. I wish the injured clubmates a rapid recovery from their injuries.

I've just seen this on the news and can scarcely believe it. My deepest sympathies to the families of James. Such a tragic accident for what should be an inherently safe and healthy pursuit.
This is dreadfully tragic news.
