Howe Street 5 Race Report

We had some excellent results last Friday at the Springfield Striders 5 mile race at Howe Street. The Ladies team came 1st for the 2nd year in a row, with Jules Reeves (35.20 pb) coming 5th Lady, Julie Jenkins (36.13 pb) and Julies sister Emma Copeman (36.16 pb) making up the winning combination. Julie also received an award for 1st Female Vet over 40. Other pbs for the Ladies came from Jane Smith (37.07), Jo Bissett-Smith (39.30), Emma Pitcher (40.32), Brenda Morelli (46.35), Niki Easterbrook (53.13), Pam Peachey (58.20) and Peggy Smith-Evans (66.58). Pam Peachey also received an award for 1st Female Vet over 60.

In the men's race, Will Tamlyn continued his recovery from a long term injury with a fine run and coming 8th overall in 28.52. Mark Eden continuing to improve every race came 10th in 29.07 (pb), followed by John Willoughby (31.06). Further pb's for the club came from Richard Humphrey (31.37), Neil Rumbold (33.52), Paul Farrell (34.46), Andy Stevenson (39.12) and Pete Inman (41.23). John Hardy received an award for 1st Male Vet over 60.
